He was all smiles at Blue's Clues Live... Until the lights went out. Long story short... We got to watch the performance on the lobby monitor.

Ben was happy until Boyd bit his finger while trying to move Boyd.

I had hoped to attract the cardinals to our kitchen window. Instead, this guy is a hogging the food. I had to build him ladders to get to the window because he was crushing the Firespike using them to get to the window.

Benjamin was thrilled to have a newly hatched Monarch on his finger.

He didn't stay on Ben's finger for long.

Mommy!!! A bunny-bunny!!!

Mommy!!! Where did the bunny-bunny go?

Can anyone help me to identify this caterpillar? He was about 2 inches long, turquoise/gray, and the spines grew from the base of the caterpillar. Unfortunately, the photos scanned darker than the originals.

The top was bald (no spines), blue-gray with a black line near it's head that looks like a cut in the skin (but wasn't) Send suggestions to backes@ij.net

Benjamin and Deb at Blue's Clues Live just before the lights went out.

We can't get him to wear a hat but he'll wear a bucket.

One of our White-winged doves.

The front of our house. Landscaping is in stage 2. Ready for hummers but nothings in its final resting place yet.

Our back yard bird feeding station. Misters are attached to 5 foot stakes at key areas. The cardinals and wrens bath in the misted boxwoods and persimmon trees.

The excess bird seed is allowed to grow around the feeding stations. Cardinals feed on the milo while still on the stalk.

The mystery caterpillar I posted a while back appears to have been a young Giant Leopard Moth caterpillar as I found another one eating my giant Cigar Flower (Candy Corn Cuphea) along with a full sized Giant Leopard Moth caterpillar.
