This baby Eastern Screech Owl fell from the nest on April 17, 2000. The first attempt to place it back in the nest was successful for only a few minutes. It fell out of the hole agan, landing on step of the ladder. After the second attempt, a tennis racket was placed below the nest hole as a net to catch the baby if it fell out again. The tennis racket wasn't needed.

Those are it's real eyes. Not sliced green olives stuffed with pimentos. My camera does seem to have a slight problem with red eye.
